This album is pure genius. The name Hybrid is appropriate for this band as they are a cross between house music and pop with incredible orchestral music in the background. This album reminds me of such other bands as New Order, Depeche Mode & Orbital. Each song is terrific (some better than others) but as a whole, the album is so good it is beautiful. This band does not get the credit they deserve. Check it out!

Do you like music? Try this one out for size. The ultimate cross-over from classical (orchestral) to electronic. A journey. If you don't like this, you don't like music. I'm not being judgemental, it's a fact. Learn it, love it, live it.
Dance why don't you! Maybe I've listened to a little too much techno in my day, but.... give it a try. You WILL LOVE IT!

If you enjoy electronica, then you'll love this ENTIRE album. It seems too few and far between for an artist these days to produce a quality package...enter Hybrid. You can't help but play this one loud and move to the delicious beats. The shear musicality and orchestral composition wraps around you like a cozy blanket. The DVD includes a sweet live performance and documentary as well. I would also highly recomend the single "Higher than a Skyscraper". Enjoy!

If this were their first cd, I would love them as much as i do now. But considering their first CD, I'm not quite sure if this is a step in the right direction. I like dance music, but Hybrid was always more than that for me, which is why i can't say this is what i wanted to hear when i bought the CD.
Don't get me wrong, I love this cd, the music is still clean and very moving, but it's not the mysterious breakbeat sound I loved with Wide Angle. I really miss the female vocals and soothing, ethereal music from the last CD. I just can't get used to the guy singing the 'pop' sounding lyrics.
All that being said, I love this CD. If you liked Wide Angle, I highly recommend this cd. I just hope that their next CD is not as heavily influenced by 'POP' dance music.

One of the few poppy albums in my dossier, Hybrid stands alone on their sophomore effort "morning sci-fi" It was the cover that caught my eye in a little mall-chain-store called FYE in Virginia, fortunately, FYE lets you listen to samples of their albums (thankgod for the modernization of record stores! I can now make an EDUCATED guess of what I am buying!). After hearing the samples I was hooked. I bought the album straight away and was jamming it on my walkman all they way back to Ft. Eustis. I have already burned through two copies and I will need to buy a third soon, I play it so much the cd gets scratched to hell. From the opening track, you are emersed in a smooth blend of beats, guitar and synth, the occassional lyrics are full of emotion and intelligence. Not bad for an electronic group that toured with Moby!
I cannot compare this album to anything. It is just GOOD MUSIC.
