This would have gotten five stars except for the price. I ended up paying around 72 dollars(included shipping) but compared to so many other series I have gotten, that is quite expensive. Everything else about Dr. Quinn is wonderful. Beautiful picture, gorgeous actors, good moral show. It is worth it, I guess.

I loved the first season of this show, but I have to say, I liked the second season even better! I think Micheala Quinn is one of the most admirable, courageous women who made this show very enjoyable to watch. Of course, it was also nice to see the blossoming releationship of Micheala and Sully! You won't be disappointed with this season!

This review refers to "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman - The Complete Season 2" DVD edition by A&E...
Season 2 is a 7 disc set with over 21 hours of some of the best television ever offered. In this season Dr. Mike, Sully and the rest of the town tackle some serious subjects. And, they do it in a way that may be viewed by the whole family, and each story will touch you emotionally in some way. "Dr. Quinn" offers lessons in life, love, cultural differences, and history in a most entertaining fashion.
Along with the heartwarming stories of love and family, that we have come to love, Season 2 delves into issues that were relevant then, and some are still relevant today. Matthew's gambling addiction, spousal and child abuse, drug addiction, union strikes, the mistreatment of the Indian tribes, and racism as the KKK makes a terrifying appearance in Colorado Springs putting Robert E and Grace's lives at stake. Other story lines will take you right through the holidays. Halloween brings the ghost of Sully's dead wife to Michaela's dreams, Thanksgiving unites the townsfolk and the Cheyenne during a terrible drought, and Christmas will leave you right in the spirit of things, and a little choked up, as Dr Quinn hides a pregnant woman and her husband in the stables.
The relationship of Mike and Sully grows deep and is tested many times in episodes that will tug at your heartstrings, the characters develop and change, Loren's sister-in-law Dorothy, played by the wonderful Barbara Babcock is introduced (I'm not quite sure what happened to Miss Olive, maybe I missed something), and there are many fabulous guest stars to look foward to, among them Johnny Cash returns and this time has some touching scenes with June Carter Cash.
The DVDs each in their own snap case,in a box to hold them, have the epsiodes listed on the back. There are 24 episodes. "Where the Heart Is", Mike returns to Boston and is wooed by a fellow doctor(Edward Albert), "The Abduction", Sully risks life and limb to resuce Mike from the Dog Soldiers, and "Return Engagement", after accepting Sully's marriage proposal, Dr. Mike's presumed dead finacee turns up, are all wonderful double length features.
The transfers are great. Sharp picture, vivid colors and very good sound. Not as much in the way of bonus material this time, but it does include a featurette, "Beginnings", with many of the cast members giving their views, and some notes on cast biographies, the guest stars and awards. Each disc has episode selection, each episode has scene selection, and all include opening and closing titles. BUT...STILL no subtitles or captions for all to enjoy this popular series...so, as in my review for Season 1.. STILL 4 stars A&E.
Dr Mike Medicine Woman is your perscription for hours of viewing enjoyment....Laurie

More of all your favourite characters! The "wild west" is now Dr. Mike's home and she fits in better and has managed to make a working family between herself and Charlotte's orphans. Watch the blossoming romance between Sully and Dr.Mike continue to unfold amidst trials dealing with prejudice toward gender and race. Confrontations dealing with the perception of women and the "proper place" for Indians still provide much material for the plot twists. Sully has just as much tomahawk action, but he's ditched the bangs (thank goodness!)

In this season of Dr. Quinn, Sully and Michaela discover their feelings for each other. Great romance, great history, great show! I especially love the two-hour episode, "Where the Heart Is." Sully travels to Boston to tell Dr. Quinn he loves her. This set is a perfect gift for hopeless romantics like me who have no life. Quality television like this just doesn't exist anymore. I can't wait for Season 3!
