My Gandson loves this movie. I'm really glad it's at his house because watching it once is more than enough for me! If I was rating it for me I would give it 1 star if that, but he loves it so I gave it a 5 star rating.

Why is there a character not in the movie on the cover in the background?

The product was in new condition, just arrived a little late, for ground shipping it took almost 2 weeks to get here..plus the tracking information provided by Amazon, was kind of lagging..I normally had better service with Amazon because I buy everything here...

As far as the content and story line of this movie,it's a little iffy. But if you grew on Power Rangers like me then this is the movie for you. It's like taking a trip down memory lane each time the rangers morph. If you've never heard of the power rangers you probably shouldn't purchase this DVD, but for all others who are products of the 90s, you will highly appreciate the "updated" CGI, costumes, and more "realistic" fight scenes.

I bought this DVD mostly out of nostalgia. I was twelve when the Power Rangers originally began airing on TV, so they have a special place in my heart. By the time the movie came out, I was fourteen or fifteen, so it wasn't really "cool" to like the Power Rangers; thus, I never saw this movie way back when. Watching it now (at age 27) was actually quite a bit of fun. I got to chuckle at the absolute overflow of cheesy humor that was the hallmark of any 90's teen-centered show, not to mention the ridiculous extreme sports that take up the first few minutes of the film. Ahh, 1995, how I miss thee. Really, this movie was not nearly as bad as some might expect it to be. The martial arts sequences were all pretty well done, and I particuarly enjoyed the Batman-esque gadgets that a couple of the rangers were given especially for the film. Speaking of Batman, it's not hard to see where the costume designers got their inspiration. A far cry from the TV show's goofy spandex getups, the movie Rangers look quite slick in their rubberized body armor. For some reason, though, the Pink Ranger is lacking her skirt..ahh well, the Yellow Ranger never had one to begin with (of course, due to being male in the Japanese series), so I suppose that evens the score. The actors all seemed to have a lot of fun, and their onscreen chemistry is great, despite none of them really being fantastic actors.
Now, on to the one MAJOR flaw of the movie: computer animation. Computer animation circa 1995, to be more to the point, which is to say... not good. Part of the fun of the TV series was the Godzilla-inspired campiness of watching guys in rubber suits trample miniature buildings. I have a feeling that if this movie were to be made today, we'd have seen action sequences that, though done with computers, would still maintain that feel. However, since this was 1995, the focus was on making everything look "kewl" and shiny. Since the technology at the time really wasn't very mature, what we end up with is a total mess. It's really a shame, because the designs of the individual Ninjazords (which are all-new designs for the film, only loosely based on their Japanese counterparts) are actually quite beautiful. The only one that doesn't end up looking like complete garbage onscreen is probably the White Falconzord. Perhaps because it's already white, so the awkward shininess isn't as apparent. I hate to go on about how bad the CGI was, but I really felt like it hurt the last third of the movie. I know CGI was all the rage at this time, but I really think the studio should have taken a different approach.
So, so sum up: Fun movie, especially for the kids (or nerds like myself), but the CGI looks very dated, and ultimately hurts what would have otherwise been a great final action sequence.
