I am a big fan of some of Revell's other work, and I usually enjoy the comic/superhero scores, so I paid close attention to the music while watching the movie. Alongside the film, I thought the score provided a pretty good complement for several key scenes, but unfortunately, I didn't find this score very entertaining after listening to it by itself. Most of the tracks seem uninspired and a little slow, and the overall score seems to be so overwhelmed with dark, brooding, mysterious qualities that it never really identifies the essence of the Daredevil character or a good movie theme. I was disappointed.

Being a pioneer in the world of movie score, I listen to several, and take notes (not literally) on what is good, and what isn't. A score is good when one is able to visualize in his/her head what is happening on screen at the time of the music. This is one thing that I noted when I listen to this score. It was like I was watching Daredevil again on my ride home from work. Although I am an advocate of putting movie dialogue in the score, and the DD score didn't provide us with any of the wonderful quotes we could have gotten, I still liked this score, and would place it at the top of my list, and reccommend it to any Daredevil fan.

I haven't even bought this cd yet but am a fan of Graeme Revell's music and I saw the movie and it has to be said that this is probally as good as the first two Batman scores which were done by Danny Elfman who if your ganna do a super hero movie you have to get him or now Revell who cathes somewhat of what made the two Batman scores great. With dark music that tells the story and keeps you in the movie. Revell adds his own blend in two this with his more traditional work like Con Air with the occational guitar riffs. His music is in some ways like Hans Zimmers and sticks to that as well. After dissapointing super hero scores like X-Men and Batman 3 & 4's scores this brings hope that director like Bryan Singer will see what music is out there in terms of scores and get with the program and get people like Revell, Zimmer and Elfman to do more of this kindda work. I have to say I was some what dissapointed with the remix of the Daredevil theme and didn't expect much of the score when I saw the movie but from the opening credits it proved me wrong. This is a must have to you comic book score collection.
