VCI Entertainment and Universal Pictures present "Law and Order" (1940) (digitally remastered), long running Johnny Mack Brown series turned out in the early '40s...the story line opens with a stagecoach ride and our hero Johnny Mack Brown, Fuzzy Knight and James Craig arrive in the lawless town of Rhyolite...can the Daggett Brothers Harry Cording, Ted Adams and Ethan Laidlaw keep their iron clad hold on the town...will Nell O'Day once again save the day in this Johnny Mack Brown adventure...some great songs featuring Jimmie Dodd and Fuzzy Knight, who keep the B-Western fans entertained with their musical routines...when cornered Johnny Mack gets his dander up and things begin to happen, the villains and badmen start running for the hills...this is one of his best, so saddle up and enjoy.

Under director Ray Taylor, screenplay by Sherman Lowe and Victor McLeod, based on a novel by W.R. Burnett, musical director H. J. Salter...the cast include Johnny Mack Brown (Bill Ralston), Fuzzy Knight (Deadwood), Nell O'Day (Sally Dixon), James Craig (Brant), Harry Cording (Poe Daggett), Earle Hodgins (Sheriff Fin Elder), Robert Fiske (Ed Deal), James Dodd (James Dixon), William Worthington (Judge Williams), Ted Adams (Walt Daggett), Ethan Laidlaw (Kurt Daggett), George Plues (Stage driver), Harry Humphrey (Cal Dixon), Kermit Maynard (henchman), Bob Kortman (Pete/henchman).........special footnote, Fuzzy Knight was the sidekick with his comical ways in many B-Westerns in the '30s & '40s with Johnny Mack Brown and Tex Ritter, finally landing a co-starring role with Buster Crabbe on the small tube in the TV series "Captain Gallant of the Foreign Legion" (1955) as Private Fuzzy Knight........another special footnote, actor James Craig first appeared in "The Big Broadcast" (1932), "Hell Town" (1937), "Fighting G-Men" (1938/Serial), "Kitty Foyle" (1940), "Winners of the West" (1940/Serial), "The Devil and Daniel Webster" (1941), "Freedom Comes High" (1943), "Our Vines Have Tender Grapes" (1945)...Craig's good looks and his resemblance to Clark Gable gave him an edge........meanwhile this is an exciting Johnny Mack Brown western provided by Universal Pictures during their heyday of the early '40s.
