One of the great "Classics". I've been wanting to see this again for years. Glad I found it on this site, and loved the fast delivery.

This is no 5-star movie. Don't be deceived. I'd have given it 3 if not for the nostalgia value and some of the cool extras. Back when we were in 6th grade and listening to Rush, Geddy Lee himself would sing "Take off, to the great white north!" as some kind of background track to their show. We loved it. And as we were pretty much in the process of discoving beer ourselves at the time, we knew these guys were cool.
25 years later, it took some effort not to fall asleep watching this nonsense. It's pretty silly stuff. The more outrageous it got, the more I liked it I have to say, but it didn't really get mildly surreal until the end of the movie, when Bob performs a superhuman beer-drinking feat, and their dog/skunk flies into the sky in order to disrupt Oktoberfest. The plot was slow and weak in a nutshell. You get to see Bob and Doug being themselves, which as I said, carries a certain nostalgic weight, especially since in all the radio shows I heard them on, I never did see an actual broadcast or movie. For this reason I bought Strange Brew. I can't say I really regret it especially since it's so cheap, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who hadn't really lived through that era, or didn't already know Bob and Doug. It was a pretty boring movie, though it had it's moments. 3.5 stars. 4 is for the memories.

I was so happy to be able to introduce my daughters to humor without tons of sex and swearing. One of the all time great movies. It made a 17 and 19 year old laugh out loud many times.
Get it.

This is a great movie, that is hard to find in department stores or malls. The price is right and the shipping was very quick.

A great movie from the people at Second City. If you are a hockey fan or not Rick Moranis is hilarious,eh. Take off hoser!
