Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II - The Secret of the Ooze DVD

In association with Amazon.com

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Enjoyable sequel!
After the events of the first movie, the four mutant ninja turtles have temporary shelter at the apartment of April O'Neil (Paige Turco) until they can find the pefect home for them and their master Splinter (voiced by Kevin Clash). The Shredder still lives and has stolen a cannister of toxic chemicals from the chemical plant that made the ooze that served as the turtle's origins for he uses it to create two killer mutant animals of his own named Razarr and Tokkar as only the amazing four can stop them.

Entertaining and action-packed sequel to the 1990 hit movie isn't quite as great as the original cult fave but still delivers action and humor even if it's kid friendly nor as dark as the original movie. Jim Henson's Creature Shop did it again with the creatures in this movie especially Tonkar and Razarr who maybe dumb looking but look realistic, David Warner and Vanilla Ice co-star especially with the song "Go Ninja Go Ninja Go".

This DVD has clear picture and sound with both widescreen and fullscreen editions with only one extra which is the theatrical trailer.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Turtle Nut
If you liked the first movie, you'll like this one. More detail on how they became TMNT. Funny, action, all around fun to watch

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best TMNT movie of them ALL!
TMNT 1 and 2 were awesome and the turtles always crack me up! thanks! amazon for the quick delivery

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Dated
This movie has excellent action and costumes, but it still has that early 90's pop culture dated look. Fifteen years later, I finally realize how annoying it is when any one of the turtles uses the word "Cowabunga."

The movie's plot is simple, and it doesn't have bad words and things like that, so it's a really good movie for kids. I really love the new mutants Tokka and Razar. Real dumb strong monsters always make the movie for me. Shredder's a good villian as well, seeking a horrible revenge on the turtles at all costs, and destroying himself inside and out in the process.

It's a shame David Warner's role as the TGRI scientist is so forgettable. If you want to see him at his best, watch the Star Trek Next Generation episode entitled "Chain of Command: Part 2." He really shines in that.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great sequel to a great hit!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of The Ooze..

It opens up with great confidence and fighting scenes and also introduces us to a Casey Jones like character, Keno.. because Casey didn't appear in this one I kind of consider Keno a step in and I loved his character and his experience with the turtles..

TMNT 2 really made more sense than the first because it opened up more details of the past and making of the turtles, regarding a radioactive substance called Ooze, in which this ooze created the turtles in the process of them being really small..

In this movie, the Shreddar returns and I thought from the first movie that falling from a building and into a garbage truck would kill him but I guess not.. his return in this movie is not very convincing but its ok but I'm glad he upgraded his costume and helmet in this movie cause it made him look more darker!

Also in the movie a Professer for an organization called TGRI tries to investigate and tries to recover the rest of the ooze left in the city before it ends up in the wrong hands or before the city is in grave danger but when the Shreddar gets a hold of some ooze left, he kidnaps the Professer and uses his knowledge and performances to create his own mutated animals with the ooze and exposes them with it... that's when this movie gets a little weak and far-fetched, the creation of a snapping turtle and a wolverine, called Tokka and Rahzar but I'm glad the Turtles deflated them back to there regular size!

Besides that, the movie is great it has the same cool potential as the first, one of my favorite parts of this movie was the ninja rap with Vanilla Ice.. GO NINJA, GO NINJA GO!.. Its so funny on how the most famous band of the early 90's got involved in this movie, it spiced it up.
