Now with that said it is a fun and entertaining game for 13 and ups. There is a fairly complex set of rules, however most people should be able to master the essential mechanics of the game with relative ease. This game is the Warhammer for fans of the Superhero genre with considerably less cost than most figurine strategy games.
One complaint is the lack of Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, and other iconic characters who belong in an introductory set.
Also occasionaly they screw up a figurine and make him relatively un-useable. (In my case Darkseid... Cool bad guy, just doesn't have the the HeroClix Base.)
And like many things superheroic that aren't on television, Heroclix aren't for small children. This runs contrary to the logic of many parents who view superheroes and comic related characters as things geared towards little boys but that is how it is.
The game is really for kids thirteen in up do to its complexity. Furthermore the pieces present a choking hazard for small children.

I got my grandsons interested in Heroclix and so we play on occasion. We have mostly Marvel Heroclix but I got these for a bit of variety. I wrote my own rules for us to use to make things move faster and be less complicated. These things are addicting and you'll also seem to want just one more box. If you can get to comic and toy shows sometimes you can pick up singles at a good price.

The second Heroclix set (the first was Marvel Infinity Challenge), Hypertime brings us such well-known characters as Superman and Batman, a range of new superpowers, and a new base design that makes clicking the figures easier.
This box contains everything you need to play, including 8 random figures, a double-sided map, Heroclix ring, dice, object tokens, and rules. I usually don't care for dice games, but I picked up one of these one day and I was hooked. I have no qualms about calling this one of the best games available today.

This game is pretty cool. The rules are quite complicated before you get to know them. Unless you're a real wargames junkie, you'll probably find it more fun to ignore some rules and make up some of your own. On durability its not that great, the feet of some figures come of the stands a bit if you click too hard. This game is obviously aimed at boys, but I'm a girl and I like it. Overall this is a cool game, just don't obsess on it too much.

This DC Heroes "Hypertime" starter set, the first product in the DC Heroes line of Hero Clix from Wiz Kids, is a great followup to the already popular Marvel Hero Clix line.
With this starter set, you can begin to have battles with your favorite DC heroes and villians. You can even put heroes and villians on the same side against another team of heroes and villians for the ultimate battle.
Almost everything you need to know is on the patented clix dial at the base of the figure. Speed (how fast you are), Attack (how powerful you are), Defense (how well you protect yourself from damage) and Damage (how much damage you deal out to your opponent if you hit) are all on the dial. And the dial allows for powers to weaken if you get hit - adding a note of realism to super hero battles.
The dice add a random element to the mix. Will you hit your opponent, or miss? And there's a place on the dial to tell you if you have any ranged combat abilities - the ability to hit your foe from a distance.
There's eight random figures in each set, and no way to tell who you're going to get, but that's part of the fun. You can collect and trade them with other fans and build the ultimate team.
I'd be glad to recommend this to anyone interested in miniature games. I feel like this is going to eventually be one of the runaway hits of the year in miniature gaming.
