I love He-Man & She-Ra the cartoons, They were awesome cartoons when I was a kid & now Im nearly 22 years old & still love them.
The cartoons were doing so well that they released this movie which I really do like but yeh its not exactly like the cartoons.
In the cartoon u have Prince Adam who transforms into He-Man, In the movie No sign of Prince Adam.
In the cartoon u have Cringer Prince Adam's pet Tiger who Transforms into Battle Cat, In this movie no sign of him.
In the cartoon u have many villans like Trap Jaw, Mer Man & so on in this movie there is Beast Man, Evil Lyn & Skeletor but all the other villans r new for the movie.
In the cartoon The Evil Skeletor was always losing his battles against He-man & always looked like a bumbling fool, In this Movie he is evil, he is mean, he is tough & he is SO NOT A FOOL which is a GREAT change from the cartoon. They made Skeletor amamzing in this movie.
It is a enjoyable movie BUT if ur a HE-MAN fan of the cartoons JUST expect a few changes from the cartoon & the movie.
I still like this movie VERY MUCH THOUGH.

Lol, what do you expect it came out in 87, althought it doesnt turn out to be like "Star Wars" it's still pretty descent.

I might love the music of the 80's, but the decade did churn out some pretty cheesy works in the realm of cinema. This film highlights that fact pretty well.
I loved the Masters of the Universe action figures, but this movie just doesn't link with those great toys at all. It spends too much time on a pair of teenagers on Earth who no one is interested in. If the script would have replaced both of them with Moss Man, then maybe the movie could have been somewhat redeemed.
Why did there have to be a fight in a music store anyway? That's not what Masters of the Universe is supposed to be all about. Fight in a place that's awesome, darnit! This ain't Roadhouse.
The performance of the guy who played Skeletor is the only thing that saves this movie from getting one star.

Masters of the Universe. The universe of masters, this movie about masters of the universe mastered my universe until the universe of my masters mastered this universe. Of the masters, universe mastered of the Dolph Lundgren tangent. Enough said, Lundgren. Dolphsters of the Lundgrenverse. I think I made my point. Pony.

I thought that the movie was entertaining when I was a child growing up in the early-mid 80's. I still enjoy the movie to this day. The movie had some rough language in a few areas, but no more than movies like, THE GOONIES, or BACK TO THE FUTURE.
I do have a correction to make. One of the reviewers stated in their review of the film,...
"Warwick Davis is also entertaining as Gwildor"
Warwick Davis DID NOT play Gwildor. Billy Barty played the part (Both actors though, did play in the film WILLOW together)
