I've loved "The Princess Bride" since I first saw it in the theaters, years ago - this Blu-Ray version does it full credit. The transfer is excellent, and a big improvement over the DVD version I owned previously (which was an early DVD, back when the transfers were often made from NTSC telecine transfers versus HDTV telecine transfers). Looks great, sounds great, and the price was quite reasonable (most BluRay is way too overpriced in my mind...).

With the Blu-Ray release of The Princess Bride, the classic (okay, it's not that old, but the story behind it is...) is brought up to the modern format.
Pros: It's the Princess Bride! How could you go wrong. Comes with both a Blu-Ray disk and a standard DVD disk, both with the movie - a welcome surprise when I opened the case. Has a small collection of feature-etts, to give you some behind the scenes/back story.
Cons: I don't own every edition of this film, but supposedly there are releases with more special features. If you don't care about special features, then this shouldn't matter.
Overall: The movie is a classic, and undoubtedly you have heard someone quote a line from this movie at some point in your life. You may have known where it was from, or you may have never seen this movie, but let me assure you, it is an enjoyable adventure for the whole family. (I guess there is a hint of blood in it, and a few scary parts, but nothing objectionable)

2 Disc Edition, 1 Blu Ray and 1 DVD, the picture quality is great for a timeless classic, a movie i watch every couple of weeks, seems very simple but addicting.

One of the best movies ever made! The story, the language! All wonderful characters. From beginning to end you laugh and cry!
