Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Hurry up and get the other 5 seasons out!!
I've worked in law enforcement for over 8 years and have found this to be an excellent series that was snuffed out in it's prime. Now that the ball is finally rolling and Season 1 is out, let's get a move on in getting the other 5 available.
FYI: I bought the Japan issued complete set: WARNING!! It's a boot leg copy they recorded off their own television. Episodes seem out of order or missing altogether. Poor picture and sound quality! If Amazon isn't selling it and some odd website claims to have it all...BEWARE! There's a reason Amazon doesn't have it yet.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - All I can say is its about time !!!!!!!
What were they ever thinking to take this show off the air, and then make us wait years for it to come out on dvd. This was the best show ever !!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best series ever!!!
As someone in the same profession I found this series to have a equal balance of personal and professional life and how they intertwine with each other. My hubby and I are both EMS providers and this show was one we watched together. It was nice to see the truth about how the personal life affects the professional life in a carrer such as these. It couldn't be closer to reality.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Show Ever
From the start I watched Third Watch religiously. Waiting from week to week for the next episode was always agony. The characters and story lines were always amazing and accurate. Your heart would literally be pounding and it had you on the edge of your seat. I know a couple FDNY firefighters who loved to watch this show and always felt it was realistic. It really got you into the lives of the people who do this. Storylines like Docs, especially post 9/11 made everyone feel the pain of these people, if only a little.

NBC killed this show. Switching days and times and leaving them on Friday with no good shows in the other timeslots. In the end they were simply interested in getting that new L&O off the ground which ended up tanking. They dragged things out and made everyone wonder if the season finale was the season finale or the series finale. I couldn't stand it, that show did not deserve that kind of treatment. (Which NBC also did to Crossing Jordan, another stupid mistake.)

L&O actually filmed on my college campus while I was there a few times and with a few weeks of Third Watch left someone said they were there again on one of the side streets. Turns out, it was the next to last day of filming for Third Watch on crappy little Hall Street in Brooklyn... They were filming the scence where Det. Yokas was reunited with Emily after Bosco killed that weirdo vampire kid Dante.

My friend and I decided to go over and check things out and the cast and crew were so nice. They talked to us about our school and what we did, where we were from, they just let us hangout and watch as long as we wanted, talking to us inbetween takes. I met Jason Wiles, Molly Price, Anthony Ruivivar and Yvonne Jung. It was so amazing to be able to thank them for their work. I told them I wasn't a nut or anything and I realized they aren't those people, but it felt like I was losing friends. They all did such an amazing job of bringing those characters to life and so few shows are able to make their characters that 'real.'I had to say how stupid NBC was for doing what they were and they were all very professional about the whole thing. They said seeing as it was the last couple of days of filming, they were feeling pretty down, but to hear what I (and people like myself) had to say is the reason they do their job and to be able to make a show that special for people makes it all worth it.

I have to say that after that, watching the episodes that were left made me feel worse, because now they were real people to me and I saw their sadness about the show ending. At the same time, it made this show even more special than it already was. The actors simply wanted to do their jobs well and entertain people, yet at the same time they obviously felt an obligation to portray the people who do those jobs as best as they could.

It wasn't just another show, it was a show about 'real people' about real heroes. Its a shame it couldn't continue on, especially after a time in our history where so many people who do these jobs for a living sacrificed themselves while more and more do it everyday. Apparently, people are more interested in regenerating cheerleaders saving them rather than the people who actually do it...
Well, not for me, hurry up with 2-6!
