Remember who starred in a certain movie, can you identify a song from the lyrics? Think you know a lot about what's current and in style than you may very well be ready for the game called Pop Smarts.
The only real assembly in this game was the spinner and that took all about two minutes. After that reading the direction took another ten minutes, so in all I was playing in less than 15 minutes total. The directions are simple enough and this game seems appropriate for just about any age group.
The game provides hours of fun and a good competitive atmosphere for everyone involved. Making a great gift for any occasion or a great time for those get together with family or friends. Storage is easy and the overall a good value for the money - well done Endless Games.

Since Endless Games specializes in turning game shows into home versions, it's nice to see an original. It certainly could be a game show, though. Pop Smarts is a fast-paced, fun game that can be played by a couple or a group. The questions are reminicent of MTV's old "Remote Control" without the glib nature or "Brady Physics." You have to have a working knowledge of pop culture to even attempt this game, but if you do it's a great time. While the cellophane panel on the box is clever, it may not hold up as well over time.

It was a dark and stormy night when the four of us sat down to play Pop Smarts. The youngest one (10) had a great time because, for once, he was in charge. He got to ask the questions and run the game. The oldest one (60) loved it because he seldom gets to sit around and enjoy his kids enjoying each other. The baby boomer (49) played the game in a nostalgic mist, remembering her misspent youth and rejoicing in the fact that her memory wasn't completely gone. The Gen X-er (36) spent the time trying to figure out how he could invent and market something that would be as much fun as this game.
In these uncertain and frightening times, it's a pleasure to have a game that evokes a more innocent era. No violence, nothing scary, just good memories and fun.

It was a dark and stormy night when four of us of different ages, backgrounds and personalities sat down to play Pop Smarts. The little one (age 10) loved it because he was in charge. The oldest one (age 60) loved it because he was enjoying the family moment. The baby boomer(49) had a blast because the questions evoked misty nostalgia for her youth and the Generation x-er (36) started wondering how he could invent and market something that would be this much fun.
We played for three hours, without a break, and laughed and argued and discussed and generally had a great time, which is what games are all about.
In these times of uncertainty, with the constant stream of horrible news on television, cyberspace and radio, this game was an island of innocence and fun. It's hip and well worth the money.

The game's writers have clearly done their homework. Pop Smarts, from the moment you read the sarcastic and smarmy directions, until the moment you aquaint yourself with everyday type game pieces that Pop Smarts' has renaimed (presumably because doing so would by "funny,") suggests a high speed test of nerves to see who is most aquanted with popular culture, paticularly in the categaries of television, film, books, and perhaps others catagories. During my first and second games, I found myself and others referring back to the rules, which might lead one away from providing what might otherwise be the most logical response. (And I thought that "answering" in the form of a question on Jeopardy was stupid. Silly me!) Perhaps as the game is played for a longer period of time, the rules will become clear (maybe evem logical) and this game might turm out to have cult following!
