Scooby Doo And The Alien Invaders: Songs From The Animated Feature And More! Music

In association with Amazon.com

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Perfect for the Sooby Doo fanatic!
We got the CD when promised and in the exact condition as promised. Thank you! It was perfect for my son's 5th birthday party which as a Scooby Doo Mystery party. We still love to listen to these songs. All songs are safe for preschoolers.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Briefly amusing
To be fair, I only bought this CD so I could get the song 'How Groovy' (sung by Shaggy in the movie). Most of the other tracks are Shaggy songs too but they're not as good. Louis Febre's score gets 1 track only and the final song is the Scooby Doo theme tune (sung by Shaggy again). I was kind of disappointed at this as in the movie it was sung by Jennifer Love Hewitt and I was hoping for her to be on the CD. She ain't.

If you want more of the score and less of the songs then try to track down Louis Febre's very rare promotional CD. It lasts for 34 minutes and it's nothing but pure orchestral music with no songs. Scooby Doo and the Witches Ghost made for a better CD. But would have been worth it if JLH was included.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Too Much Shaggy.
SCOOBY-DOO AND THE ALIEN INVADERS is the soundtrack to the video of the same name. The album was released around 2000, right around the time that Warner Brothers was revamping the classic franchise to make it more appealing to a youthful audience. The album contains 13 songs. Only two are directly from the video ("How Groovy" and "Alien Invasion"). Most of the others are remakes of classic "alien" songs, such as "Purple People Eater", "The Martian Hop", and "Mr. Spaceman". However, there are a new and original songs as well, such as "Vacuum Cleaner Hoses" sung by an Elvis-sounding singer.

My favorite songs on this album are:

"Blast Off"

"Vacuum Cleaner Hoses"

"Slime Creatures from Outer Space"

"Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?"

Shaggy and Scooby sing the majority of the songs on the album and though Shaggy is probably the most popular character in Mystery, Inc. besides Scooby-Doo, listening to him on song after song, was a bit too much. I was also disappointed that the Scooby-Doo theme song was sung by Shaggy and not the original version of the tune. But, even with all of Shaggy's whining, I still enjoyed listening to the songs. Overall, SCOOBY-DOO AND THE ALIEN INVADERS is a nice album to have if you're a Scooby-Doo fan, especially if you love Shaggy. I've played a few of the tunes on the webradio show I host and they've gotten a few positive responses. Now, if only they would come up of an album with the whole gang singing songs.
