Brings back the childhood, belting these tunes out in the car. Makes today's kids scared outta their gourds. It's worth it. Remember 'I'm Just a Bill"? Or "The Shot Heard 'round the World"? All just great and timeless.

My 3 year old grandson enjoys this and all the SCHOOL HOUSE ROCKS CD's. I didn't have this wonderful educational tool for my children so I feel so excited to be able to give it to my grandkids. I have found another CD that we are thrilled about called SRIPTURE ROCK. Both of these CD's captures and keeps a child's attention and imagination.

The cartoon "The Shot Heard Round the World" was mediocre. It is aimed to teach little children about the Revolutionary War, but the writers left out a lot of information. They mentioned major battles and events, such as the Battle of Lexington and Concord, but did not go into detail. If older children listen to this song, they would not learn much. The writers did not mention the Battle of Saratoga which was the reason France and Spain joined the war. The writers also made Valley Forge sound too simple. They did not explain how the men at Valley Forge barely survived the winter. If the writers made these few changes, the cartoon would more educational for both audiences.

It was one of the most significant events in American History when the Americans revolutionized against the British. The Schoolhouse Rock version of this event, entitled "No More Kings", is very entertaining and educational for children between the ages of seven and ten. It was appropriate and fun for the following reasons. Firstly, the creators simplified the events, therefore making it easier for children to comprehend. Secondly, it is illustrated with humorous cartoons, so that it is fun to watch and listen to. In addition, it is simply is educational, and will give kids a jump start on American History. Lastly, since the song is shown on television, the events in history, such as the Boston Tea Party were drawn out. Visuals always help young children remember things. As parents or teachers can tell, "No More Kings" is a great way to get kids or students to learn our country's history while having fun.

No more Kings was an educational and fun-filled video which, on the whole, was an accurate source, yet there could be improvements made. I perused the lyrics and found though the basis of the song was factual, some parts were grossly fabricated, such as the Pilgrims missing Mother England and that tea and property were the only items/possessions that were taxed. Also, you skipped some very crucial items such as Jamestown, and help from Squanto, who basically showed them how to keep themselves alive by living on and cultivating the land. The song quickly progresses, sometimes skipping more than 100 years between events. However, considering the rhythm of the song, the song didnt stray far from the truth or topic, and I feel it was a valuable way to spend my time.
