An excellent collection with great sound an a generous selection of single and LP tracks, including some not generally found on Monkees greatest hits collections. If you're looking for one Monkees CD to own (and don't want to go for the expensive box sets or the excellent Rhino 2-CD "Anthology"), this is it.

People like to bash The Monkees and put them down, but there really is no denying that their music is catchy, fun and singable. I'm sure that most people enjoy their music, although most would probably deny it to the end. All four Monkees were/are very talented individuals, and musicians in their own right. And over 35 years later they are still very popular .. kids still watch the tv shows and know most of the songs. Which is more than can be said for The Partridge Family and other such shows. This album contains 20 songs including 5 single versions of songs that were never on an album. A must-have collection for all Monkees fans. The 16 page booklet contains photos and an 11 page essay on this album, the songs and The Monkees themselves, plus track-by-track annotations.

The Monkees' Greatest Hits
The Monkees have very good music. They are funny also. During their songs, they will do really funny things like running around in the audience while singing their songs. They also have funny songs. For instance, they did a Hawaiian song about a funny person saving people from danger. I recommend this music to anybody who wants to listen to great music.

Any cd from The Monkees is a good cd including this one. This cd showcases some of the most notable songs from the Monkees. It is missing some songs that I would have liked to be on it but still delivers some of the good ones. For example "Randy Scouse Git", "Words", "Mary Mary", and "Goin' Down" just to name of few. This cd would not be a waste of your money or time.

Well I recieved my CD The Monkees Greatest Hits a couple of days ago. Aside from the very poorly written liner notes which did not make sense this is a freat collection for every monkees fan. A MUST HAVE! These are the original recording and they sound great. The recordings are crisp and clear, a deffinate change for the better if you are used to listening on old records.
