The Brady Bunch Movie and A Very Brady Sequel are both very funny movies, and it could be argued for hours about which one is funnier, but I like both.
My review is just a simple wish to Paramount Home Entertainment, about what I would like to be done to The Brady Bunch Movie and its sequel. I would like to see both of them on DVD, that would be very nice. Having them in anamorphic 1:85:1 widescreen formats would be a delight, too, and some special features would be nice. It doesn't need to be loaded, but maybe a documentary or two, some trailers and TV spots, and possibly a commentary by the cast would be VERY nice.
However, none of these are required, but something I really want to see on the DVD of the first movie is the extra scenes featured in the Network Television Version of the film. These include Mrs. Dittmeyer (Jean Smart) trying to seduce Peter (Paul Sutera) while he mows the lawn, Greg (Christopher Daniel Barnes) playing that horrible beanstalk song with Eric Dittmeyer in his garage (he gets thrown out), and the completely eliminated sub-plot about the termites in the Dittmeyer's bathroom (this explains the neck brace he wears in one scene).
Please, please, please, Paramount! We all know you're not a company known for making good DVDs, but The Brady Bunch Movie and its sequel both deserve special editions so that everyone can enjoy the films in the best possible quality and with the Network scenes intact.
Thank you.

This movie is the funniest movie on the face of the earth. It has the comedy of Billy Madison and the perverted "hidden" sexual jokes of Howard Stern. Together they are a winning team. If you are familiar with the Brady Bunch like me, then you will apprietiate the kind of comedy. And with every brady having their own problem; Greg: chasing a girl and becoming a rock star, Marsha has two dates for the prom and has a broken nose, Peter is struggling through peuberty, Jan is trying out new ways to express her individuality and fighting the "inner voices" in her head, Bobby is fighting the law as a hall monitor, and Cindy is struggling with her lisp and her tattling. All of these problems are taken from past brady episodes.
Bottom Line: A terrific spoof of a 70's classic

The movie is funny! It is risque, but not crude, which is nice. Above all it has great writing. The actors are fine (but it is painfully clear when an original cast member takes a cameo that they do not have the talent of the orignal cast, which is surprising. Who knew the cast of the Brady Bunch was talented? That is no doubt one of the reason's behind the tv show's success.) Lots of comedy about sexuality, but no where near the gutter level of post "Something About Mary" comedy. Even though I said it is a good comedy and well worth seeing, I have to warn you that it also left me feeling sad and empty. The premise was funny - the Brady's are stuck in the sunny 70's the rest of the world is in the cruel 90's - but the postmodern cynicism is bleak.

This movies is exactly what Howard Stern would do if he could make an episode of the Brady Bunch. The whole concepts of putting the Bradys in numerous sexual situations (including Alice who is a big perv in this movie) makes it hilarious. Yes, it helps if you have seen the original TV series.
