This is the best ever Christmas CD - cool classical jazz riffs to enjoy as an adult, and it'll have you drifting back to your youth in front of the fireplace in you pajamas, watching the "Charlie Brown Christmas" cartoon. This is the ONLY Christmas CD I can just play over and over and never tire of it. If had to get rid of my Christmas CDs but keep only one, this one would be it.

I enjoyed this CD so much. It brought back wonderful childhood memories that I was able to share with my daughter. I remember being small girl watching Charlie Brown and knowing that Christmas was just around the corner. This is great for all of us 40 plus folks.

There are two only two truly perfect Christmas albums: A Charlie Brown Christmas, and the Johnny Mathis Merry Christmas album (1958). A Charlie Brown Christmas was released in 1965 as the soundtrack album to the CBS Christmas television special. It is no surprise that it is among the most popular holiday music albums of all time. All of the songs on this CD are legitimately great jazz songs regardless of the time of year, but easily recreate the sense of childhood excitement and mystery of the holidays. To create a perfectly mellow holiday ambiance, just add eggnog, champagne, and a warm fireplace to the following setlist:
1. O Tannenbaum
2. What Child Is This
3. My Little Drum
4. Linus And Lucy
5. Christmas Time Is Here
6. Christmas Time Is Here
7. Skating
8. Hark, The Herald Angels Sing
9. Christmas Is Coming
10. Für Elise
11. The Christmas Song
12. Greensleeves
G. Merritt

I put this up there with 'Kind of Blue' and 'A Love Supreme' in terms of importance, especially to mainstream America.
Let's be honest, this is the first place you really listened to a jazz song as a child. Just like Bugs Bunny is the first place you really listened to classical music.
Vince's playing is wonderful. His sense of time and choice of notes are superb.
What else is there to say...a must have for any jazz collector, I don't care what you celebrate in December. I listen to it all the time, it is great jazz music and should be enjoyed whenever you need a pick me up.

I always get depressed around the holidays, and this cd is helping me through it.
The mellow, jazzy tunes help me get in the Christmas spirit, in a bitter-sweet way. I love Christmas because it is a time to be with family. I also hate Christmas for the same reason. And this soundtrack (like the cartoon) strikes precisely that chord--invoking the child-like anticipation along with the sad undertones of the holiday season.
If you're like me, and sometimes find yourself sitting alone outisde in the snow while the rest of the family parties it up in the house, then you'll probably like this cd.
