The Roswell Legacy: The Untold Story of the First Military Officer at the 1947 Crash Site Books

In association with Amazon.com

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A common sense approach to the Roswell Incident.
This book answered many of the questions I had after reading the book by Stanton Friedman. It gives more credibility that something significant happened in 1947 and the difficult dilemma placed on Major Marcel at the time. Having gone over and over the symbols, as remembered by the author, based on my knowlege of English, French, German, Japanese, Russian and the ancient written forms of the Babylonians, Chinese, Egyptians, Phoenicians and ancient runes, the nearest thing they could represent would be some form of hieroglyphics. Of course this is all conjecture, and without a reference, virtually impossible to gauge the authenticity or decipher their meaning.

Still, something did happen out there that year . . . what exactly we may never know. Until and unless some form of government confirmation is revealed and verified Roswell will remain a mystery deeply steeped in the conspiracy annals of history.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Nothing new here
No new information in this book. When will someone out there have the guts to produce some hardcore evidence that will prove once and for all that aliens have visited (or are living) on Earth? Perhaps there is no evidence to produce because there aren't any Aliens. I happen to believe there is. So come on , somebody , somewhere, produce the proof that everyone is waiting for. The Public IS ready for the truth !!!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Roswell Legacy
This book is mostly about a sons defense
of his fathers honor and reputation.
A couple of items were brought up about the
sons experiences with this incident but on large
it is a rehash of common knowledge.
The books strong point is that it was written
by the only surviving human to actually have
viewed artifacts from the incident.
The input from his perpective is something you
can't get from ordinary investigators.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - great read
It is fantastic to finally get the inside story from someone who was there at the beginning of the Roswell story. Jesse Marcell, Jr. is a great patriot (he still serves in the military as I recall) and if you have even a passing interest in knowing the real story of how it was found, etc. buy this book. Any fan of UFOs will be happy that they did.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I Believe Him
What can be said about Roswell that hasn't already been said? The last 20 years have been a morass of competing books, competing belief systems, and accusations of government conspiracy while the government officially 'debunks' the event.

At this point, whether or not you believe in the Roswell incident is moot. Minds have long since been made up. What Jesse Marcel Jr.'s book does for us is to put a human face on the incident. And by that, I mean, he gives us solid background information into his father's career which should end any speculation that Marcel Sr. wouldn't recognize a radar target when he saw one. In addition, he gives us first person accounts of some odd Roswell-connected events in his own life, and openly moves to distance himself from 'the tinfoil hat crowd.'

For these reasons, I believe him. His object in this book isn't to bring any new revelations about Roswell to the reader, but rather to protect the reputations of both his father and himself. I believe him when he discusses the debris. I believe him when he reports his conversations with the official Air Force debunkers who put out the "Case Closed" report.

I tend to take the paranormal with a grain of salt. I'm no True Believer, but nor am I a Hardcore Skeptic. Until reading this tome, I sometimes doubted Marcel Jr.'s veracity. But here's a successful career man who has nothing to gain from telling the truth when it would have been so much easier to say 'no comment.' "The Roswell Legacy" has convinced me that whatever crashed on Max Brazel's ranch, it wasn't within the scope of post WWII technology.

Was it extraterrestrial? Marcel Jr. seems to think so. He very handily offers a chapter on advanced space travel theories that are, indeed, based in modern physics. This bolsters his idea somewhat, but still leaves the exact nature of what happened open to debate.

One thing I know for certain--I believe that he's telling the truth about his father, about himself, and about his knowledge of the Roswell Incident. Highly recommended.
