being a huge fan of Mr. Connors, as well as the rifleman, i had to read this book. Mr. Fury has done a terrific job in helping people get to know Mr. Connors, in a more personal way. from his sporting days through his acting days. the rifleman is a huge part of my life. Mr. Fury's book helps me to remember not only the t.v. show, but Mr. Connors as well. this book is so wonderful i have two copies. even though i never met Mr. Connors, i feel through this book i know him better than i did. thank you Mr. Fury, for a wonderful book about a man with a lot of class. Chuck Connors is missed by so many people, but his legacy and memory will go on, thanks to his many friends, fans and this book.

David Fury's biography of Chuck Connors provides a thorough and entertaining view of Connors work, not only as a tv and film personality, but a sports figure as well. I was familiar with Connors tv and film work but not his role in sports - and not just one sport but two - basketball and baseball. Connors turned out to be a very versatile, but humble, individual who seemed to enjoy his fans, be they film or sports fans. The book provides a thorough review of Connors' life and contains one of the best things any biography can have - interviews and comments by those who actually knew and worked with Connors. These are essential in any biography and Fury's work contains tons of quotes which give the book thorough credentials. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in Chuck Connors.

David Fury obviously put a lot of work into this book. I believe almost everyone interested in Chuck Connors would be glad to own a copy. There are dozens of excellent photos, details about all his movies and television shows, and quotes about Connors from many of the performers who worked with him. It's a quality hardcover book, well worth the cover price. I also recommend that those interested in Connors check out the chapter on him in Baseball's Forgotten Heroes.

I found this book to be interesting reading about the career of Kevin "Chuck" Joseph Connors, from his basketball and baseball days to movies and television. I don't mind the lack of info on his personal life, since I want to rememeber the man I knew from "The Rifleman," "Arrest and Trial," "Branded" and "Cowboy in Africa". Fury deserves credit for his attempt and perseverance in writing the book. The photos also added color to the career details. My money has not been spent in vain!

The amazing thing about this book is that aside from Chuck Connor's having a good sense of humor, you learn almost nothing about his personal life. His childhood is ignored, there is one paragraph about Chuck meeting and marrying his first wife, one sentence about their divorce, and even less about his subsequent marriages. Reading this book gives you far, far more information about the characters Chuck played onscreen than about Chuck himself. A major dissapointment to a true fan of The Rifleman and the man who played him.
