With so many crossovers taking place in the Marvel Universe, it doesn't take long for She-Hulk to get involved in them, and Volume 8: Secret Invasion finds Shulkie fighting against the Skrulls.
This volume also includes an issue or two of X-Factor whose stories overlapped with She-Hulk, but the main crux of the story is with She-Hulk and her bounty-hunting Skrull pal, Jazinda, on the trail of a mighty Skrull, a religious figure whose presence is necessary on any planet before the Skrulls can invade. She-Hulk and Jazinda's mission is simple - get this Skrull out of the way, and nip the invasion in the bud. However, when the Super Skrull shows up - and it turns out that he has a history with Jazinda - their mission is easier said than done.
This comic is continuing its upward trend both in terms of storytelling and art. Peter David is doing a good job of holding things together with his "new concept" of She-Hulk as a disbarred bounty hunter on the run. The art for the most part, while good, is a little cartoony for my taste - it looks a lot like a high-quality Saturday morning cartoon. What it lacks in actual detail it makes up for in action.
For those of you who have been hanging with this title, this is a good volume and worth your attention. Too bad the comic itself has been cancelled!
