I'm a big fan of Bendis' interpretation of Venom, and I also really enjoyed Venom's new look, courtesy of Stuart Immonen's great artwork. However, this story's timeline is WAY too disjointed, and might have had more weight and a better flow if Bendis hadn't concerned himself with adapting nearly all of the elements from the video game. I'd also argue that the important elements of the story should have been saved for an annual instead of a six part storyarc. Some of the big action scenes like Venom/ Peter's fight with the Ultimates are great but feel like filler, while the so-called 'war of the symbiotes' lasts only 3 pages and occurs with no real buildup whatsoever. In the end it seems that the only point of this whole story was to bring Gwen Stacy back into the cast, which makes all the business with the Wild Pack and Beetle seem unneccesary.
