This is the best Hulk tale in years. It has drama, violence, romance and lots of Hulk Smash throughout. It is the lead up to the Marvel World War Hulk series which will surely pale in comparison to this classic adventure. The writing is Pak's finest and the art is richly stylized but firmly rooted in reality. Lots of great looking alien characters and environments compliment this fantastic tale. It's been awhile, but the Hulk surely is back. With all the hoopla surrounding the death of Captain America and Marvel's horrible Civil War tripe this opus got ignored. Well, now is the time to rinse the bad taste of the last year at Marvel out of your mouth with this sweet tale of the less than jolly Green Giant.

I am a Hulk fan so I preordered this comic collection and eagerly awaited its arrival. I was not disappointed. This is easily the best Hulk comic I have read in recent memory and possibly forever. The art is really spectacular, the story is well crafted and emotionally charged, there is real suspense, some plot twists shook me up, and overall, it came together beautifully. This book elevates Hulk to a new level and I can hardly wait to see what World War Hulk will be like (when I get the collection next year).
I highly recomend this edition to any comic book or Hulk fans. I give it five stars without a doubt. Also, there are some extras in the back that give back story about the alien planet and its people.

This is easily one of the best Hulk stories since Peter David's legendary run in the 1990's. It's like the movie Gladiator- except the Hulk is Russell Crowe and the Romans are aliens. What's not to like?!?!

I have to confess that i'm not a great fan of THE HULK, but believe me when i tell you (specially all you not-fans of HULK) that this book is one of the greatest sagas i've ever read. And of course, if you want to understand a little better the origin of the troops that are with Hulk in WORLD WAR HULK, you MUST read this. Great great great book, with a great quality (ok, i confess that this is my first HARDCOVER book and i'm still astonished).

Planet Hulk is an epic storyline that has really defined the hulk for over a year now. Here is the basic premise: The Illuminati, (Black Bolt, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, Namor and Professor X) decide the Hulk is too great of a threat to themselves and to the planet, so they create an opportunity to blast him out to a planet where they think he will find peace. As usual something goes wrong and the Hulk is shuttled to a distant, war-torn planet called Sakaar. There the Hulk is forced to fight through slavery to eventually become the fulfiller of an ancient prophecy. Does he finally find Peace? Will he step into his unsuspecting role as the planets savior? You'll just have to read and find out. This story is packed with action and plenty of twists and turns that'll keep the story moving. Greg Pak and his artists gave the fans what they wanted with this storyline: plenty of action-packed sci-fi goodness.
The two main artists: Carlos Pagulayan and Aaron Lopresti do a very impressive job of transforming Greg Pak's scripts into wonderful visuals. They both have a knack for this big, fist-pounding action, and never hinder the reader with poor storytelling. Each of the alien creatures has a distinct look, which stays consistent throughout the storyline. Both artists make the Hulk's struggle a lot of fun to read with their huge panel work and exotic locales.
Both Greg Pak and his artists do a remarkable job of setting up the world and the inhabitants of Planet Hulk. For fans of epic, sci-fi action, this book makes for a very fun ride. It's hard to deny the exhilarating feeling of watching a band of outcast warriors fight for their freedom, and the creators only enhance that by making each of them a different alien species!
