Overall this is a great book and gives plenty of information on not just the show but the history of EMS as well. There are some factual mistakes such as stating that the Chet Kelly character never took the engineers exam when in fact he did. There are also numerous grammatical and spelling errors throughout the book. If you liked Emergency! you will probably like this book as well.

This book was an great read, but if the authors are really "fans" of "Emergency!" then how did the misspelling of Bobby Troup's last name get by them? The spelling throughout the book is "Troop"! (as in "F-Troop" --- whoops, wrong program!). I also noticed a couple of other factual errors about Universal Studios and Jack Webb that should have been caught, too.
These may sound like small issues, but it does detract from the overall quality of the book. I would have given this book five stars except for the big boo-boos.

The book emergency behind the scene is very good it shows the programme in great detail. It also gives great information about the cast of the show and the people who died during the last 10 or so years. It also shows how the Los Angeles Fire Department is run and the people involved.
I'd recommend the book to any Emergency fan.

As a longtime fan of Emergency!, I really enjoyed this book and appreciate the authors' efforts. The episode guides alone, with their extras about each episode as well as episode details, are worth the book's price. The book includes extensive information about the show itself as well as the Paramedic program and those who were instrumental in getting Emergency! aired and keeping it a high-quality show. My only criticism, and it certainly should not stand in your way of purchasing the book, would be that the book could have used a tighter hand in editing. There are a few typos as well as some sections that could have flowed better, but the content is top-notch. BUY THIS BOOK!!!

Well, not quite, sadly. This book has a lot of some types of information, but lacks a bit of the detail I expected. The episode reviews made me wonder why I had ever watched and enjoyed this series enough to buy the DVDs, as they were less than concise. Some of the background information was incorrect - Lt Crockett was credited with playing Lt Brocklin in Perry Mason, when in fact it was Lt Brock and Mrs Olsen was wrongly credited with being the school teacher in Little House on the Prairie.
This aside, it was an interesting book, although lacking photographs of the stars. The few photos it did contain were very interesting, but let's be honest, the stars are the people who sold the show.
Over all, if you enjoyed the series 'Emergency!' you will enjoy this book.
