Educational DVDs should be cheaper (at least USD 6.00) & it'll help all education-concious parents to buy them. Besides, their DVD running time is approximately 40 minutes. My 15-month-old son is into Barney in the first place. My mistake. Barney offers him imagination (make-believe kinda thing). And then my wife was suggested by her colleagues that Sesame Street DVD can be a good tool for babies/kids to learn. Sadly, we can't find any Sesame Street DVD in Malaysia & if there is any, the price will be around RM 80 (USD 20.00). That's when I logged on to Amazon.com & purchased it. Now he has gradually developed big interest in mimicking the way Big Bird sing ABCs (and the melody is catchy, too). The only dissatisfaction I have is that the captioning doesn't appear (only the subtitle appears). The captioning is good for impaired-hearing people & kids to learn about reference to situation (eg. "chattering", "laughing"). I've bought few DVDs from Amazon before (eg. American Me) & the captioning appears as just fine on my region-all DVD player. Regards, Irwan Shah from Malaysia.

My son with 18 months was singing his ABC's and I know that this video helped him accomplish this. Yes, I sang the ABC's to him but something about Elmo and Sesame Street friends captured his attention sometimes more than I could. The video I found not to be too long and kept his attention for the whole time. I recommend this video if a mother or father is trying to find a video for there little learner!

This dvd is both educational and fun. Whenever Billy Joel or Bear gets something right, my 16 month old daughter applauds and says YAY to encourage them. It teaches them the letters and words that start with the letter, while at the same time being very cute and fun to watch. This one of her only dvds that she watches over and over again and keeps her attention. I encourage every parent to get this one for their child. It is a keeper. It is also fun for the parents to watch over and over again as well.

Both my 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 year olds love this. The older child sings along with just about everything. This is a very entertaining video and well worth the price paid!!
BUY IT!! You won't regret it.
I am purchasing the DVD now because my little ones wore out our VHS tape.

My daughter is just beginning to speak. This video highlights Baby Bear and his significant speech impediment. It's not cute, it's not child-like, it's incorrect pronunciation! I agree completely with the other reviewer who noted that it's irresponsible of CTW to have a character who speaks like Baby Bear. This is not a dig at people with speech impediments -- it's frustration at the choices Sesame Street has made -- to offer a "teaching" tool that teaches incorrect speech patterns. We won't play this video again at our house.
