Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Alien Encounter
Wow! What a great read! I couldn't put it down. I wanted to read the book because I'm such a big fan of the TV show. It's soo much better!! The story is basically a modern Romeo and Juliet love story. Max is an alien from another planet who is in love with a human girl named Liz. When he saves her life, both their lives and everyone elses dramatically changes. This book focuses on Max and LIz's love story but there are also other interesting characters like the other 2 aliens, Micheal and Isabel, and Liz's 2 friends Alex and Maria who all have their own stories unfolding. The first book is by far my favorite out of the series, but you have to read them all. Just to warn some people: it is a story about ALIENS but it mostly centers on the characters relationships with each other. I would steer clear if your a BIg SF fan.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic Book
Although meant for young adult readers, this book is a worthy read by adult standards as well. As a lover of Roswell the WB series, I was at first elated to discover that they were rooted in this wonderful series by Melinda Metz. After I read the series, however, I became apalled at what a mess the show writers made of the situations and characters involved. It is unfortunate that they lost their vision of who their characters were meant to be. Luckily, Metz never does.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Over and Over
"The Outsider" was an awsome I could not put it down. It is really interesting how they mix alien life and human life together. And it is very action filled. I would read it a second time just to get the juice going. And the characters are very intersesting and the author Melinda Metz is a very good writer. I would say that readers anywhere from 12-25 could read this cause it is interesting.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Outsider, A review
This was an exceptionally good book. It has the perfect mix of mystery, adventure, sci-fi and romance. Liz Ortecho lives an ordinary life in Roswell, the site of a UFO crash. One day while working as a waitress in her father's "Alien" Cafe two men get in a fight. One of them pulls out a gun and aims it at the other man. Threatened, the other man tackles the gunner who fires. But instead of shooting his target the man shoots Liz. Panicked Liz's best friend Maria tries to stop the bleeding when Max Evans, a long time friend, pushes her aside. Max Touches the wound and in a few seconds Liz is fine, not dying like before. In fact the only way you can tell she was shot was a hole in her uniform. How did Max heal Liz? The only way to find out is to read the book.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I read this LONG before the tv series existed
I have read and reread this book series since way before there was even talk of a TV show! I love these books! And quite honestly, I was completely disappointed with the show. The show changed the entire story, and in my opinion, destroyed it. So I advise everyone to read the book series bc it is FAR BETTER than the poor excuse of a show the WB put on.
