I'm glad to see WAGON TRAIN available on DVD. Ward Bond, essentially, made the show, along with Robert Horton. The wise
will buy the years while both of these actors are still featured.
One other actor was terrific as well, and I don't mean to discredit
him. His name doesn't come to mind just now. In my recollection
he was more or less Ward Bond's assistant and perhaps his cook as
well?

I have fond memories of watching Wagon Train with my grandfather. It was his favorite show. I just recently started watching again on Retro T.V. and was surprised at how good the show really was!
I came looking for the series on DVD, but if this is all they have to offer, I think I'll wait. For one thing, it's way too expensive for one season. When the price comes down and they start releasing the whole series - by season, or as a set - then I'll be all over it!

i love wagon train. its long over due to dvd. however i wont be buying anymore tv series on dvd until ALL the seasons are available for that series. im tired of spending my hard won money buying season box sets and then having the big wigs cancel further releases so that we cant complete the collections. cbs has done this after canceling rawhide after the 3rd season. i will never waste my money again buying tv shows on dvd until they are all out. cbs/paramount stink!

This is going to be an "uncut" first season of Wagon Train. The 39 episodes have be remastered and reside on 10 dual layer DVD's. The series was inspired by the western, "The Wagonmaster", which is one of those few classic films that is getting a pressed DVD release this year, so you can examine both and compare.
