At the Paris Opera House new management has taken over. Among their many tasks they must also deal with a mysterious Opera Ghost , who has been tutoring the young chorus girl Christine Daae. When the French gypsy Esmeralda takes refuge in a church she meets many strange new people. Among them is Quasimodo, the bell ringer, who no one pays much attention to. As Esmeralda is thrust into the new world she becomes the object of many men s affection. One of them is Frollo, Quasimodos cruel caretaker. When Frollo kills Esmeralda s lover, it is she who committed of the crime. Can the unsuspecting Quasimodo save Esmeralda in time or will she die of a crime she didn t commit?

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a must own for any fan of cinema and this version starring Lon Chaney just makes it all the more worth owning. Lon Chaney is an icon in acting and Hollywood. This is the movie that made the man. Although Chaney did A LOT of films before this, this is the one that made him a horror ICON!!! Lon Chaney (the man of 1,000 faces) is wonderful. He is so good as quasimodo. This is truely a wonderful movie. A must see for all silent movie lovers.
