Great player all DVDs regardless if they are Blu-ray. Connected it to our HDTV using HDMI 1.3 Cat 2 cable. We have computers so didn't think it necessary to have any extras for the internet. We also subscribe to HBO, Cinamax and Encore for our television, so don't need to download movies.
Our children buy the movies and some of them are Blu-ray. Now we can watch any of their movies.LG BD270 Blu-ray Disc Player

This is my very first Blu Ray player and I have not yet tried to play a Blu Ray in it. I was interested in it for the ability to upconvert Dvd and to output to a 7.1 channel surround sound. I can't honestly say that the upconverted Dvd's really look all that different but the sound is nice. This Blue Ray does not stream Netflix or connect to the internet and that is just fine as I run a P.C. thru my computer for those purposes - I wanted just a Blu ray/upconverter so I got just what I wanted.

We had recently purchased an LG LED TV and were in the market for a blu-ray. I was very happy to find a LG brand blue ray on Amazon. At first, the lower price made me worried that the quality would not be as good as another brand that was higher price but was very happy to find out that my worries were not needed. It is very good, but heated to the point that bite your hands and careful not to touch the device from the bottom it may burn your hand...

1. Slow to start play. (longer than 10 sec)
2. Compared with my old DVD player, the control is quite limited and not so easy to use. (For example, working on TV control, you can change source, but you cannot "select" it because there is no return button!) And there are some functions (which I used on my old DVD player such as scene selection) not accessible unless you stop playing.
