Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Better late than never
27 years after the movie release, someone somewhere finally realized that this score is not only the highly recognized and thrilling Star Trek II score but also one of the early James Horner (Titanic, Aliens, etc. etc.) compositions - thus leading to our finally getting to listen to nearly 30 minutes of music that was left off the original LP (and 1990 CD release). The disc is accompanied by a 28 page booklet of liner notes, including a well-written description of each track as well as interesting ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn Extended
The tracks that were left off the original vinyl release are included in this version. I believe all music from the movie is now on this CD. The only clunker of the bunch is the "Genesis Project" which is the background sounds to the video Kirk, Spock and McCoy watch regarding the project summary.

I'm glad I bought it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Nice to see these still in production
I'm glad so many years later companies bother to put together releases like this. I was praying that I would actually want to listen to this and not just buy it because it was a new Star Trek CD.

I've heard that Horner theme score way too many times over the decades between the movie, the original sountrack, the countless compilation CDs like the Astral Symphony from the old days and the Erich Kunzel Telarc CDs.

But to my surprise, it was an incredible pleasure to hear this ... Read More
