The mask is sturdy plastic with the normal little white elastic band, but it also has fabric attached to tie around your head adding security and a real Ninja look. My son wore the mask for pictures, but not for the neighborhood parade or trick or treating. The actual outfit is well made. The elbow pads are not attached and I had to pin them on to make them stay in place.
