Description: After his wife dies in childbirth en route to California in 1870, Joel McCrea ("Sullivan's Travels," "Buffalo Bill") settles down in Oklahoma. He quickly finds trouble when he tries to protect an Indian woman caring for his baby from the two villains who are attempting to cheat her father out of his oil-rich land. With Emmy-winner Barbara Hale ("Perry Mason") and Brad Dexter ("The Magnificent Seven").

Although Joel McCrea is always good to watch, this is not a good western. It is a very slow and predictable one. I recommend Wichita, Stranger on Horseback and Stars on my Crown.

The Oaklahoman,
I saw it once on Encore Westerns and knew I had too add it too my collection. I purchased it on VHS however my VCR broke. So I would go too your site and see if you had put it out on DVD. Joel McCrea is one of my favorite actors in Western Classics.
Rating: -
THE OKLAHOMAN is a gentle and heartwarming oater starring Joel McCrea. McCrea makes acting look simple and always seem to have been born in the saddle. Not too much gunplay, but good character development, and a surprising ending. Recommended.
