Story
In Kingdom Hearts, Sora turned the Keyblade on himself in order to release Kairi’s heart, but his heart was also released in the process. This brought about the creation of Roxas, Sora’s "Nobody." Yet Roxas has no recollection of his previous life, which is unusual for a Nobody. He joins Organization XIII and slowly begins to discover the truth behind his existence and the Organization itself. As time passes he meets and befriends the fourteenth member of the Organization, who also has no recollection of her past. It is a strange coincidence. What will Roxas see during his time in the Organization? What is the connection between him, Sora, and the fourteenth member? And what becomes of them? Dive into the heart of the Kingdom Hearts storyline’s biggest secrets.

Panel System
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days contains a new gameplay mechanic referred to as the "Panel System." These panels serve as a means to equip and customize character's levels, items, magic, weapons, abilities, armor and accessories. But more than just a means of access, panels also facilitate progression through the game in that certain items, spells, etc. necessary for progression cannot be used, or at least used to their full potential, until their panels are equipped. Once done though, not only can these be used, in many cases through the use of "Link Panels", which can be used in conjunction with other panels, thus allowing for special item and ability creation.

Multiplayer
Not only does Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days allow for team-based gameplay utilizing the franchises standard AI partners functionality, it also contains exciting cooperative and competitive multiplayer options. In both these options players can join together with additional players in DS multi-card play over a DS Wi-Fi connection. The cooperative mode is the real showcase option though, allowing players to team up with up to three friends and engage in mission play that is distinct from the story driven mode of the single player campaign. During these battles players choose from one of the fourteen members of Organization XIII, each wielding different weapons, skills, and stats. The multiplayer campaign also features hidden characters including favorite characters from the Kingdom Hearts and Disney universe including Sora, Donald, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku.

In addition, although dialog between characters and player in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 is limited to text, within multiplayer modes players will have access to a chat system for communication which displays responses on a single screen, allowing for complete exchanges and conversations between players in context.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - No more icecream
The story line is better than some games I have played, but definitely not better than the PS2 KH games. A lot of reviewers complained about the panel system, but I had no problems with it since you figure it out pretty quickly. The gameplay itself is really simple and you won't be doing much more than smashing the A button or flying around during boss fights. The worst part of this game is that after almost every mission you get a cut scene where Roxas, Axel and Xion sit down to eat their sea-salt ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Game with a few kinks
KH 358/2 days is a great installment to the popular KH series. The panel system is interesting, but also makes it hard to bring all you need. The magic is also different (such as cure cura and curaga) and makes magic even more obsolete. The gameplay follows other KH games perfectly. Mission mode is also fun, and lets you play as many previously unplayable characters(although Donald and Goofy should be stronger, they saved the world). Overall, this is a fun game that should be any KH fans library, although ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - New KH
Actually, I purchased this for a Christmas gift, I'm assuming my son will like it, and it hasn't even gotten out of the box yet :)

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - LOVE IT!
The game is totally awesome! Although some of the missions are a bit tough, the characters you can play are amazing to play as to complete those missions! The status changes in the game may be a bit frustrating, but once you get past that, you might find that the game is worth more than it is sold for! The best game so far is right on this very page, just waiting to be bought. So what are you waiting for?

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - kingdom <3
The game plays pretty similarly to kingdom hearts, except for the non linear gameplay. The music and graphics are great, as would be expected of square enix, and the cutscene cinematics look no less impressive than those of Kingdom Hearts 2. The scope of the game isn't as epic as kingdom hearts or kingdom hearts 2, but that is probably due to limitations from cartridge size. The control scheme seems kind of lacking, and I find that quite often the controls are subpar due to the limited buttons and lack of ... Read More
