Description:
When a decaying Russian satellite crashes on the island, the Professor uses a key component for a barometer. With that device, he learns that a massive wave is going to swamp the island. In desperation, the castaways lash their huts together into one structure in order to have any chance to ride the disaster out. The wave strikes the island and the hut is swept out to sea. Once there, Gilligan accidents starts a fire trying to cook a meal and nearly burns the floating hut down. Occupied with stopping the fire, the gang fails to notice that the smoke caught the attention of a naval helicopter who summoned a ship to rescue the castaways. In triumph, they return to Hawaii, only to learn that things have changed over the years and they will have trouble fitting in. To further complicate matters, two Russian spies are after that the key component that Gilligan now wears as necklace.

This movie "Rescue from Gilligans Island" is also well done and it is also funny and in this movie the Castaways have to get used to being on the mainland again after being rescued and Gilligan does his usual stuff and gets them all into more stuff and they have quite some adventures in this movie and it is indeed funny and witty I am sure you and your family will enjoy it.

i love the series. this is not worthy as an episode. very insulting to character after such series development on characters. No Ginger. No fun. Bob Denver deserved so much better of a series sendoff.

Does anyone know if this version is of better quality than the version that was circulating a few years ago? I have that version, and it was not great! I would like a better version of this movie!

If you are a fan of the show (and I am) you will probably enjoy this movie. The absence of Tina Louise in the role of Ginger Grant is amply filled by actress Judith Baldwin, the rest of the cast is exactly as in the original series. They all look a little older but considering Natalie Schafer was 78 (13 years older than Jim Backus who was suffering from Parkinson's disease), Alan Hale Jr. at 57 was still grand as the Skipper, and of course Bob Denver at 43 was still bumbling around and frustrating ... not much to say I recieved the product in good condition but have not had a chance to look at it yet. I remember seeing this as a TV movie and would like to see how close thix is to my memory. I don't want to ruin the (un)expected end to this movie depending on how you look at it
