Authentic Detail and Movie Sounds
With this replica, the modelers at Playmates have accurately recreated the 2009 version of the Enterprise to the finest detail. Constructed completely from plastic, it measures a foot in length and is about six inches across. The primary "saucer" area has been sculpted to imitate the contoured surface of the original ship, and features painted windows and insignias. Atop the saucer is the Enterprise's bridge, which lights up with the push of a button. The ship's deflector and warp engine nacelles also light up and blink with a blue glow.
Upon pressing the button, you'll also be treated to sound effects taken straight from the movie. You'll hear the engine roar and the Bussard collectors whirring. The replica even plays back real dialogue between Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto).

The Enterprise comes with a unique, ice-blue display stand that will easily fit on a desk. It attaches to the replica using a ball bearing, allowing you to angle and position the ship as you please.
It should be noted that this replica is based on the movie, and is not based on the classic NCC-1701 design from the original Star Trek series. The Enterprise was reinvented for the latest movie and features an updated, more modern look. The primary hull of the original ship has been "smoothed out" for a sleeker, streamlined shape. This toy was bought as part of a collection. It comes full assembled and ready to go as soon as you add batteries. This would be a great addition to any collection or fun for a child to play with.

Being an owner of several Diamond Select Star Trek ships, I bought the playmates Movie version to add to my collection. I was expecting something less than Diamond Select ship, but upon opening the box, I was very surprised.
While it is not as polished as a Diamond(forgive the pun!), it was made with care to most detail from the movie. The decals are bold and close to accurate to the movie. The white and blue lights are vibrant, and blink correspondingly to the four phases from the movie, ... Read More

Got this item Monday. Some parts of this item does not look like the ship from the movie. A few of the lights show through the plastic and there is extra lights being shown on the Nacells which should not be there. Also you can see the screws along the Saucer section. I got a NCC-1701 Refit model that looks more accurate then this thing. For any buyers, I suggest you wait for a AMT or Polar Lights Model to come out if they do make one and if they do, if you prefer it have lights, definatly wait for ... Read More

I have always wanted a TOS original Enterprise, but this one (from Star Trek XI) is actually a blast to have. All lights work and function as they should. However, the voices could use a litte work (they sounded as if they where microphoned). And the scaling too, could use a litte tweak. Despite these factors, this new Enterprise will fit in nicely with the Diamond Select starships, and is, at leat, of a decent quality. This ship from the new Star Trek movie is GREAT. The lights are 10x brighter than any of the old ships. The sounds are high quality, but they don't have enough of the different sayings like the original NCC-1701. This says 4 different things and that is it. BUT....the sounds with the lighting are tremendous ! Well worth the money !
