Amazon.com: Sure, there's a plot, but the real pleasure of Soul Men is watching the most gloriously bad-tempered men in movies face off: Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac. The best scenes consist of nothing more than these two scowling and ranting at each in top form. Louis Hinds (Jackson) and Floyd Henderson (Mac) were the Real Deal, the backup duo to a soul singer who ditched them for a hugely successful solo career. When he dies, Louis and Floyd get invited to perform in a memorial concert at the Apollo in New York. The squabbling pair reluctantly agree and head out from Los Angeles in a green convertible, performing hastily-booked gigs along the way and, of course, learning lessons about life and friendship. But even if the ending is inevitable and sugar-sweet, these two give it some bile and bite along the way. The movie's loose and feisty tone keeps the formulaic elements from feeling stale or stock. Soul Men doesn't break any new ground, but it's pleasantly entertaining. Also featuring eclectic appearances by soul music legend Isaac Hayes (both he and Mac died before the movie came out), Sean Hayes (Will & Grace), Ken Davitian (Borat), Jennifer Coolidge (Legally Blonde), and porn legend Vanessa del Rio. --Bret Fetzer

I must say Bernie Mac and Samuel Jackson are great as a pair, they both had me in stitches from beginning to ending especially their arguement scenes *gotta love Bernie and his foul mouth*, Bernie and Isaac will truly be missed, I must say with this being Bernie's last movie before his departure this was a BANG in my book for comedy wise. I can't front I caught myself humming the tune to "I'm your Puppet" around the house like it was a real song lmaoo.

Some may find it funny not all, it is because it too offensive with too much of bad words and too much of naked intercourse going on, my christian mom turned her mom wouldn't watch it. I already knew from a sec. when I saw first part that she would not watch it because when he was in bed with a woman that made him speaking gibberlish ...I was like oh man! Mom ain't gotta like it. anyway I kept it to watch it for myself, my bro, or dad also family/friends. I also don't blame ppl who don't want to. ... Read More

What can I say but simply Hilarious! These two guys put together was just perfect! There was never a dull moment with them! I've always loved Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac (Bernie is missed greatly!) this movie never made alot of attention but it should have cause this is one of the best comedy movies I've seen in a long time!

I expected more from this movie. There were very few truly funny moments although I am fans for both actors.
