Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
X2 does a fine job of picking up where X-Men left off, giving fans more of what they liked the first time around. Under the serious-minded custody of returning director Bryan Singer, the second film of this Marvel comics franchise ups the ante on Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and the superhero mutants from the first film, pitting them against a mutant-hating scientist (Brian Cox) who's determined to wipe out the mutant race by tricking Xavier into abusing his telepathic powers. More a series of spectacles than a truly satisfying thriller, X2 introduces new mutant allies while giving each of the X-Men alumni--notably the temporarily helpful Magneto (Ian McKellen)--their own time in the spotlight. Well aware of the parallels between "mutantism" and virulent intolerance in the real world, Singer lends real gravity to the proceedings, injecting dramatic urgency into a continuing franchise that, in lesser hands, might've grown patently absurd. --Jeff Shannon

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good sequels to movie action
I am a long time Marvel and X-Men fan. I have not been impressed by the comic to movie conversion of these characters. I like the movies as stand alone adventures. I do not think the represent the series well, but they are fun to watch. In all fairness, I have rarely been impressed by comic to movie, or book to movie, conversions.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - X2: X-Men United
I have been a fan of the X-Men ever since I first started the X-Men cartoon series back in the 1990s. This movie, as its name implies, is a sequel to the first X-Men movie. In this movie, the X-Men have to rescue their leader, Professor Xavier, played by Patrick Stewart, from evil government forces. Along the way, Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, discovers clues that could lead him to his lost memories. The action scenes kept me engrossed in the movie and I found the plot very interesting. ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent condition - Like new!
I was amazed how fast this DVD arrived. I was also in shock at what perfect condition it was in. There were no markings or scratches at all! Thank You!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Easily the best of the franchise
X2 is not only the best out of the current four films in the film franchise, it is probably my favorite Marvel comic book movie of all time! (Spider-Man 2 was just as good). Everything is better this time around. The action is a huge improvement from the first film, and the story will keep you on the edge of your seat. I also liked the direction this movie went in. The first film dealt with the X-Men facing off against Magneto's brotherhood of evil mutants. The first movie was strictly mutant VS ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - More Good Eye Candy
Since the first movie, "X-Men," was famous for its great special effects, this sequel knew enough to deliver the same kind of eye-popping effects to please its fans....and it did! There are absolutely tons of stunning special effects, both visually and audibly. All of that means very few lulls in this 134-minute film.

Having said that, I do think the film actually needed some lulls. At over two hours of pretty intense action, it needed more breaks. Either that, or shorten the story. ... Read More
