Product Description: DRAGON BALL Z - SEASON 6 (DVD)
Amazon.com: At the end of season five of Dragon Ball Z, artificial android Cell achieved his perfect form and challenged the Z Fighters to a martial arts tournament to determine the fate of the Earth. Now the tournament begins, but it proves to be a very uneven adventure. The contest begins slowly: The first 11 episodes are just set-up and filler, with little action. The battles between Cell and the Z Fighters offer plenty of excitement, as the brawlers blast each other through rocky cliffs and fling bursts of energy into space. Goku correctly predicts that Gohan will crush Cell. But the story falls into repetitions; Cell has to be killed three times before he'll stay dead. When Cell announces the tournament on TV, Mr. Satan, a WWF-type, appears as Earth's champion. Although he's a coward and a phony, the TV crew fawns over him--a lame gag that goes on far too long. The filmmakers also change the rules in mid-story. Cell had to absorb Androids Nos. 17 and 18 to achieve his perfect form. After a series of body blows from Gohan, he vomits up No. 18 (intact); later, he regenerates himself into an even more perfect form without the Androids. Goku is killed and decides to remain in the Next World with King Kai, rather than risk attracting more evil creatures to Earth. But when Trunks returns to the future, he destroys Cell before he can travel to the past and achieve his perfect form
which means the Cell that killed Goku never existed. Season six could have easily fit on four discs--the last two discs contain just three episodes apiece, and the only extras are textless songs and some trailers.(Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence, tobacco use, ethnic stereotypes) --Charles Solomon

Funimation should not say original Japanese Audio. A couple of Songs were supposed to be sung By Hironobu Kageyama and all they did was leave the BGM Empty. If They couldn't get the copyrights to the Original songs Why didn't they put on their DVD Sets Original Japanese artists songs were not added. This was A real disappointment When Cell Crushed android 16s Head and Gohan powered up this scene seemed really strange with song at all. Maybe Funimation were too Cheap to give royalties to these artists ... Read More

This was a great purchase for my sister-in-law. She's a big Dragon ball Z fan. The price was reasonable.

I've been a diehard 'DragonBall Z", "DragonBall GT", and "DragonBall" fan ever since I was six years old and I love this DVD boxset! Continuing from where the Imperfect Cell and Perfect Cell Sagas (Season Five) left off, the good guys fight against Perfect Cell (after the first few episodes, where Cell is training and the good guys are training and relaxing) in his Cell Games Tournament and, at the very end of the saga, they eventually kill him and they kill his form in the alternate timeline that Trunks ... Well what else do you expect out of the best Anime action cartoon every created? in my opinion, this box set covers the beginning of the Cell games and the end of the cell saga. And of course this being one of my favorite sagas of DBZ because of the action and the story behind.. overall a good dvd set for any DBZ fan!! i loved it... the battle between SS2 Gohan and Cell was just pure Epic!!
