Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not the best. Not the Worst.
I bought this movie because it starred Bruce Campbell, David Caradine, and was directed by the guy who did Waxworks. By the time it arrived, my expectations for it far exceeded anything anyone could have reasonably have expected from a movie made by mere mortals. (For a over a week "Bruce Campbell, David Caradine, Anthony Hickox" bounced around my brain along with "vampires in the old west". By the time the movie showed up, the thought had become "BRUCE CAMPBELL! DAVID CARADINE! ANTHONY HICKOX! ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Cool All But Forgotten Vampire Flick
The DVD cover of this film would have you believe that this is a Bruce Campbell film. Just to set the record straight, it isn't(damn those marketing people anyway!). Bruce wasn't the cult star he is today when this film was made(his last film was Evil Dead 2 a few years earlier). His part is secondary.
Sundown is a comical vampire film with a western vibe going on. It was directed by Anthony Hickox, a director who seemed destined for cult status, but only partially achieved it. He made the ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It'd never win an Oscar, but it won my heart!
This is unashamedly a B-movie, with cliches and cheap special effects and cheesiness galore. But that's the fun of it!

It is in fact a very intelligently written ode to the B-movie genre, with tongue-in-cheek humour abounding. So long as you don't take it too seriously, you're in for absolute fun and a lot of laughs and more than a few thrills. And unlike your standard B-movie, this one actually has a lot of surprises, interesting plot twists, and genuine suspense and excitement.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - A Little Bit Dissapointed to Say The Least
I am a huge Bruce Campbell fan, so when I saw him on the cover of this box I had an expectation for a campy, cheesey, B-film with some blood and gore...well, it was campy and cheesey, but more like a D-Film! There is really no blood and gore and for Bruce being on the cover he had very little screen time.

David Carradine tries and (for the short amount of time he spends on screen) so does Bruce Campbell, but the story is weak, the acting is poor and it leaves a lot to be desired. It does ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - His name is Bruce...
For quite sometime I believed Sundown to be a lost, forgotten classic, and it may have remained this way if it were not for the fact that this outragous b-movie sports the king 'B', Mr. Bruce Campbell. Now, without getting into some mushy fanboy-ism, let me say that while Campbell's appearences in this fim are great (and too few and far between) the gold of this movie is the beautiful backdrop, fantastic score, innovative ideas, and all-out fun---western style. I can recommend this film not only to horror ... Read More
