Amazon.com:
Now and forever a favorite among kids, this 1990 comedy written by John Hughes (The Breakfast Club) and directed by Chris Columbus (Mrs. Doubtfire) ushered Macaulay Culkin onto the screen as a troubled 8-year-old who doesn't comfortably mesh with his large family. He's forced to grow a little after being accidentally left behind when his folks and siblings fly off to Paris. A good-looking boy, Culkin lights up the screen during several funny sequences, the most famous of which finds him screaming for joy when he realizes he's unsupervised in his own house. A bit wooden with dialogue, the then-little star's voice could grate on the nerves (especially in long, wise-child passages of pure bromide), but he unquestionably carries the film. Billie Bird and John Candy show up as two of the interesting strangers Culkin's character meets. Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern are entertainingly cartoonish as thieves, but the ensuing violence once the little hero decides to keep them out of his house is over-the-top. --Tom Keogh

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Funny... and suprisingly sentimental
Believe it not I never saw this film till 2009, as I didn't particularly like that 'Culkin kid'. I must admit that after seeing the movie I understand why it is well liked. It has wicked sight gags, but also is quite sentimental, esp when the disturbingly 'evil' kid, who wreaks havoc with two burglars, can do a psychological 'about-face' and bring an elderly grandfather together with his estranged son. A really nice and funny film worths 5 stars.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - home alone review
One of my favorite movies, my son (age 5) also enjoys this movie along with Home Alone 2 Lost in New York, he thinks it's hilarious when Kevin fights back the thieves with his painfully funny traps.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Christmas Fun for all the Family
I remember I loved this film back when it came out, and I was still relatively young. I don't think I've seen it since, and I must admit to being a bit sceptical when I popped it into the player. Still is good as gold, it turned out! Not sure how much "reviewing" is needed here; has anyone not seen this film? It is one of the biggest hits ever, and more importantly; it was made while the US was still a European nation, which the movie really shows. It is so old there's even a Jewish bad guy, not ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - still a fun movie to watch after all these years
i cannot believe it has been almost 19 years since this movie came out. i remember when it first came out and seeing it in theaters. hard to believe i was only 5 years old at the time. still enjoy watching it after all these years. it is a wonderful heartwarming family comedy. i am so happy to have it in my collection and everybody else should have it in there's too.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Not Blu-Ray Quality
I purchased this movie in Blu-Ray format expecting a crystal clear picture but I was shocked to discover that the picture quality is nearly the same as a standard definition DVD. The studio managers should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this rip-off. Buyer beware; this movie is not Blu-Ray quality!
