Editorial Review:
Album Description: "Dying To Live" written and performed by Xzibit on the new soundtrack! The movie's evocative music (score) is by long time X-Files composer, Mark Snow. In addition to the score, the soundtrack has three additional tracks: Xzibit's "Dying To Live," "Broken" by hip-hop's Unkle and the "X-Files Theme," remixed by Unkle.
Album Description: Original Motion Picture soundtrack with music by long time X-Files composer, Mark Snow. In addition to the score, the soundtrack has three additional tracks: Xzibit's never before heard 'Dying To Live', 'Broken' by Hip-Hop's Unkle and the X-Files Theme remixed by Unkle. The X-Files: I Want To Believe features an All-Star cast which, in addition to David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, includes Amanda Peet, Billy Connolly and Rapper Alvin 'Xzibit' Joiner. Directed by X-Files creator, Chris Carter, the film features a screenplay by Carter and Frank Spotnitz. The X-Files: I Want To Believe follows in the footsteps of the immensely successful Fox Network television series and the first X-Files film, Fight The Future.

Mark Snow once again succeeds at giving audeiences the most compelling score in movies or television today. It offers up an abieance that unmistakeable suspenseful intelligent and paranormal. The Album also features a colaboration with Xzibit that is one the most lyrically equated songs ever. A definatly masterful recording. I love the score for Fight the Future (even though it was mastered incorrectly--the right and left channels are switched). Much like the film, however, I Want to Believe's score is boring. Just stick with the first film's score and you'll be all right.

From the atmospheric ambience to the bold and forceful melodic statements, this soundtrack has something for everyone. For fans of Snow or "The X-Files" this soundtrack is a must own.

although disappointed by this X-Files film, I wasn't disappointed by the always brillant music of Mark Snow.

Just track 10 "The Surgery" and 21 "X-files Theme (unkle variation) alone are worth the price of the entire soundtrack.
A little dance and electronica, the latter has got to be one of the best renditions ever of the X-Files theme by Mark Snow.
"The Surgery" is an amazingly haunting and soulful tune that serves as a reminder to everyone (especially X-philes who watched the entire series) that the X-Files is not just science fiction, but there is a lot more heart, emotions, ... Read More
