Dr. Christian Meets the Women is an excellent entry in the amazingly popular Depression era Dr. Christian series. Dr. Christian is a good natured and clever town doctor played by Jean Hersholt. Hersholt first played Dr. Christian on the radio and his friendly Danish accent and humble manner was an enormous success. The character translated well onto the silver screen and six movies were made and well received. Eerily pertinent today, Dr. Christian Meets the Women involves a quack doctor who's selling miracle diet pills. It's up to our good doctor to rectify the damage done by the poor quality drugs. Dr. Christian Meets the Women is a fine film that's wholesome and genuine.
