Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Better Than I Was Expecting
I decided to see this movie because my brother's wife is a huge fan. I have to say that this movie was a lot better than I was expecting it to be. This is a vampire love story and I think some people expect more but that is the bare basics of the movie. There were just a few times in the movie where it was slow, but the slow moments only lasted a few seconds. It was able to pick up the pace fast. This is just an interesting take of the vampire mythos and I really enjoyed the scene when the family ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - I'm Saving Myself for the Right Vampire
Months before the release of "Twilight," I couldn't understand why the media kept referring to the Mormon upbringing of Stephanie Meyer, author of the original novel. What does someone's religion have to do with a work of fiction, anyway? Having now seen the film, it's all become so clear to me. Mormon doctrine states that sex is only proper within a marriage bond; anything outside of marriage is not considered proper sex, but improper fornication. Therefore, you must completely save yourself for ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Bella and the Beast
I know what the most seductive part is. It's being chosen. It's someone else saying that you are perfect for them; that no one else will do. Of course it doesn't hurt when the chooser is a gorgeous hunk of man like Robert Pattinson. He plays the brooding, mysterious Edward Cullen. Bella is only human. Who could say no?

When the teenyboppers in the movie audience squealed when Edward first came on the screen, I thought maybe they were recognizing their lip gloss. The man wears a shiny ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The lion falls in love with the lamb
So, I just got back from seeing TWILIGHT and am happy with the results. Pretty much just as I predicted it had its moments but, as expected, was not as good as the book. Some things were done well while others...not so well. It was off to a shaky start I thought but the chemistry between Bella and Edward were felt quite fiercely, which is something I feared the most as they seemed to have no chemistry at all whenever seen together promoting the film. They did a good job keeping the story first and ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Story Much Weaker in Movie Form, But Not Horrible Film
Okay, so I could completely rant about both Twilight the book and the movie, but I'll try to keep it kind of short.

The book in brief: klutzy but cute girl, Bella, with questionable practical intelligence and self-esteem falls for the hottest guy in school who's a vampire, Edward. He professes his love then saves her life from her own stupid self. Then they go to prom. Oh and there are some not-so friendly vampires who make a brief but important appearance, there's a game of vampire baseball, ... Read More
