Editorial Review:
Product Description: A deadly symbiote invasion brings devastation to New York City. In Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, the game is set in an apocalyptic vision of the city. You'll have complete control over New York City's salvation and the fate of Spider-man. It also features an all-new combat system that allows for three-dimensional battles that can start on the street and end up on rooftops. You can also switch between the red and black Spider-Man suits, choose to ally with Marvel's heroes or villains and decide what missions to undertake to save Manhattan from destruction.

First of all, I want to say all these bad reviews for this game are fair. Activision produced this game with the obvious intention of making it seem like it was the "real" Web of Shadows that was on other systems. They've done this before. I was burned on the Spider-man 2 game that was supposed to be a ground breaking sandbox style web slinging game according to all the reviews. So I pick it up for the PC and it turns out that is the one system where they did a completly different type of game ... Read More

Our 10 year old son asked me to do him the favor of reviewing this game for him. He's a big fan of all the spider-man games going all the way back to playstation 1. As soon as he put this game into his PS2 all i heard was ... what is this ? This game is dumb, you can only walk sideways and the graphics are bad. I just tried it for myself, and he's right. He just received a PS3 for his birthday a few days ago, and i noticed the reviews for the PS3 version are much better.
We might just ... Read More

This game is horribly made and the title and back cover are very misleading. They make it look like the game only has horrible graphics but still 3-D environment. The game is made up of choices that are accompanied by dialect that is useless to the story. The story in itself is badly explained and you catch on to things 2 levels after they happen. The battling is far too easy and they spice up the bosses by giving them high damaging hits. At the end for getting through all the hardships, enduring the ... Read More

I will agree with other reviewers that the gameplay could be better and the 2d aspect is a bit of a letdown. I do enjoy the storyline. I understand the frustrations of others with the way the game was marketed. I did not pay too much for the game and as a diehard spidey-fan I have enjoyed playing it. I have enjoyed every Spider-man game I have ever played from the NES games,Commodore 64, Arcades, and the current systems. I would encourage anyone buying any game to look at reviews of the game and if ... Read More

I bought this game for my six year old for a Christmas present. He likes it okay..., but is disappointed it's not the playstation 3 game. I'm more than disappointed because the cost of the game greatly out weighs the quality of the game. I now read video game reviews before I buy any games for my son. I wish I had read all the ones regarding this game. I would have never bought it.
