I first took notice of comic book statues in the late 90s, when a relatively unknown artist by the name of Randy Bowen released statues of Thor, Daredevil, Doctor Doom, and original Captain America. These sculptures had well proportioned physiques, subtle facial expressions and poses, and unique bases. I purchased this sculpture recently and I disliked it immensely because several things were changed for the worse that not only affected the quality but were also done without informing the customer.
The well crafted and detailed wings on the head were replaced with an unimaginative dull variation. The bright, shiny, candy blue coloring that can be seen in the images has been replaced with a standard, dull blue finish instead that just looks lifeless. The face was re-sculpted and lastly ...
