Pretty much what all the positive reviews have said..I think this is the best effort put out by Tobias and one of the best albums of 2008 thus far. If you enjoy Rock,Metal, Power Metal, Prog Rock etc then you will have to get this album. It has all the elements of them. Production is superb all the contribution made are well worth the album alone.

What an interesting album. And I mean that in a good way. Many different voices on this album (including Alice Cooper). The song styles are also a wide range of sounds (and I'm guessing talents). A good solid album.

My favorite avantasia album thus far, "The Scarecrow" is a great ballad, Bob Cately has an amazing voice filled with emotion-it works great with Tobias Sammet.

Avantasia the scarecrow is a masterpiece of of tobias's best work to date but there was one song in there that didnt make the masterpiece list carry me over now i dont know why but it was more of a kill me slowely than poppy balled the other one that i didnt like so much just because of the on going was twisted i think that khan my god could have had a better job or piece to play made him from a symphonic power operatic singer to just this guy in the background no one wanted to listen to.

I hated The Metal Opera, I love this. There really is a difference.
This album really surprised me, especially looking around on amazon where almost every metal album is rated 4 and a half or five stars, I was hesitant to pick this one up. However it's one of the best metal albums I've come across in a long time, in both song writing and pure emotion in each song.
