I'm a Studio Art college student with an original model Nintendo DS. After taking notes with a pen, painting pictures with a paintbrush, and sketching in pencil, that tiny thin standard DS stylus hurts after a while. This pen is about the size of a stylus you'd use for a Graphics Tablet, which is much wider... The stylus is about as thick as a Sharpie, and from the tip to where the Yoshi stands is about as long as the grey part of the Sharpie.
