Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
The sameness of everyday life sometimes breeds discontent and Garfield is bored with his life in Cartoon World and sick and tired of reporting to work at the Comic Strip Studio every day with co-workers Wally, Billy Bear, Randy Rabbit, and Bonita. When Odie accidentally drops his bone through a patch in the screen that separates the realm of Cartoon World from the Real World, Garfield impulsively decides to dive headlong into the land of hot dog vendors with little regard for his girlfriend Arlene or owner Jon. Followed by the ever-bumbling Odie, Garfield's initial excitement quickly dims at the prospect of dumpster diving for food scraps and spending the night in an old leaky building. What's more, the neighborhood cats don't believe he's the real Garfield from the funny papers and Garfield knows that now that he's entered the real world, he can never return to Cartoon World. When the local newspaper declares its intention to replace the Garfield comic strip for good, Garfield realizes the enormity of his mistake and begs his Cartoon World co-workers to somehow find a way to bring him and Odie back to Cartoon World before their strip is permanently cancelled. This completely CGI animated full-length Garfield movie is a marked departure from the previous two live-action CGI animated movies (Garfield the Movie and Garfield--A Tale of Two Kitties) and has a distinctly unique look that utilizes three-dimensional character modeling against a seemingly flat background that looks like good video game graphics crossed with a colorful comic strip that's somehow been inflated. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Wonderful Animation - and it is also Fun and Entertaining
Running time: 1 hour and 15 minutes

The animation is nice and so different. Looks like a combination of hand drawn and CGI, it's just wonderful. It made all the characters more interesting and even that Garfield is still the familiar sarcastic and sometimes annoying feline, he is cute and more adorable.

Just like other Garfield movies, the humor may be appreciated more by older kids. The story started with Garfield being a celebrity but was so tired of his everyday life ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Lame is putting it mildly
I am a fan of the Garfield movies and the cartoons, but this movie was difficult to watch. It was slow moving, and the plot was not intriguing at all. Maybe little kids will like it, but I recommend sparing yourself this waste and buying the season sets of Garfield and Friends and the Garfield holiday dvd.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - hmmmm... a little slow in pace
Other than missing the voice talents of Lorenzo Music or even Bill Murray, this story just seemed slow. My daughter loves Garfield, but she couldn't even get into this. While it had it's moments, it just seemed "sleepy". I think Garfield's voice (Frank Welker, who is usually really good) just seemed to try to imitate Music's voice, but just couldn't do it justice.

If they do more of these CGI movies, I hope they are more entertaining, and have a lot more energy.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Alright Garfield movie
The CGI animation is great, but the story line left much to be desired. It was easy to figure out at the beginning what was going to happen and the solution. It would have been better if they took their time to either develop the story line better or had more interaction between the other cartoon characters from the other strips.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - kids should like it,but it has some pretty freaky looking characters (2.5/5)
i don't quite no what to make of this film.this is Garfield's first CG
animated movie.i thought it had some amusing moments, but nothing laugh
out loud funny.the story is very simple,so kids will be able to follow
it very easily.the voices were very fitting for the characters.the CG
in general looks nice and pretty.that's the good news.the bad news?some
of the characters look quite freaky, almost scary,i think..i also found
the movie very slow for much of the time.i ... Read More
