I used to love MSCL so I am glad to have it on DVD, however the picture quality is on the grainy side and it does not look very good on my 42 inch HDTV.

i loved my so-called life when it first came out and had not seen it in years. although some of the episodes are a bit cornier than i remember, i still really enjoyed watching it. it really brought me back to my days as a teen and all the big emotions that go along with that time. claire danes really steals the show as angela, and wilson cruz's character, rickie, still speaks to me as a gay man who once struggled with my identity. if you liked the show the first time around, get this box set.

When this series came out back in 1994, i was just getting into high school and i have to say that what Winnie Holzman did with the writing of this series, really saved me and showed me that i was not alone. Her character's were so true to life that even today, 15 years after the show got cancelled, it still has an effect on people's lives. At least a decade before it's time. the writing in this series is right on and if you can't relate maybe you were in a coma or grew up in another country or something. Everytime I watch another episode I have a new favorite character. Nine so far, not to mention the awesome music you've turned me on to. Juliana Hatfield was a great touch and I've become a lifelong fan of hers.
