It's fun watching these old programs, but it is clear that the conversion to DVD didn't take any steps to improve image quality or try to restore bits of scenes that have been lost over time. The episodes appear to have been played one too many times before the conversion. On disc one of the set, several episodes are pixelated and unwatchable. I suspect that since I didn't pay a lot for the set, I shouldn't expect too much.

ONE STEP BEYOND was the pioneer TV show in the supernatural genre. This half-hour ABC TV series (first broadcast on Jan 20th, 1959) was based on purportedly true stories. I have really enjoyed watching the fifty episodes included in "The Very Best of One Step Beyond." I will undoubtedly purchase more of these as my finances allow. A lot of viewing for not much money.
