Blade: House of Chthon is the ghoulishly scary, feature-length premiere of cable channel Spike TV’s Blade: The Series. Based on the vampire-slaying, Marvel Comics hero originally played by Wesley Snipes in a theatrical film trilogy. Blade the Series stars Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones as the sword-wielding hero who keeps his own bloodsucking tendencies in check through daily injections of a special serum. Blade: House of Chthon finds Blade trying to penetrate the nefarious plans of one Marcus Van Sciver (Neil Jackson), a wealthy and influential vampire developing a vaccine that will make his kind indestructible. Complicating matters is the arrival of Krista Starr (Jill Wagner), twin sister of a would-be vampire murdered by Marcus. Blade is forced to accommodate her need for revenge, until Marcus drags her into his own monstrous world. The action is gory but softer and clumsier than the feature films--everything looks a little rushed, as action shows often do on television. I ENJOYED THIS MOVIE A LOT, I ALSO ENJOYED THE SERIES THAT WAS ON SPIKE TV FOR A TIME. KIRK JONES DID A GREAT JOB AS BLADE. I THINK THAT MR SNIPES WOULD BE EQUIALY IMPRESSED WITH HIS PREFORMANCE.

This show to me proves that this country has built in attention deficeit disorder. Personally I thought the show was pretty decent, it was better than three quarters of the garbage that is on any how. Spike tv did not get the instant results they wanted and decided to can this show instead of letting it run for a season or even two. I LIKED IT, I REALLY DID! HE DOESN'T QUIT PULL OFF THE CHARACTER AS WELL AS IT IS IN THE MOVIES, BUT STILL DONE WELL. I LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING THE SERIES WHEN IT COMES OUT

After watching this Pilot I was a bit disappointed, Blade was not the cool guy you remember from the movies, not acted very well either. Still I hung on because I saw someting I liked and as the series progressed it got better, but that was too late after 1 season it got cancelled with a bit of a cliffhanger.

Ok I liked the TV series and was immensely saddened by its demise but what can you expect from a 3rd rate TV network. My rating is for this DVD and not the show itself because this DVD is ONLY the pilot yes thats right folks they put out only the pilot. I was so looking forward to rewatching the one and only season of the show and my rating reflects my dissapointment.
